Key Issues
Effective and Actionable
As a husband and father, the issues I care about are not abstract; they are personal. I’m committed to protecting families, ensuring fairness, and building a stronger future for our communities.
Protecting Children
Children deserve to be protected, and our systems should leave no room for failure. I am committed to strengthening mandatory reporting laws, closing dangerous loopholes, and ensuring that those responsible for protecting children are equipped, accountable, and responsive.
Closing Mandatory Reporter Loopholes
Georgia’s mandatory reporting system must be strengthened to ensure no child falls through the cracks. I will work to close gaps that allow abuse or neglect to go unreported or unaddressed.
Accountability in Reporting Systems
We must ensure that reports are taken seriously, acted on quickly, and followed through. Protecting children requires both strong laws and consistent enforcement.
Supporting Families and Prevention
Prevention matters. Supporting families, educators, and community members with clear guidance and resources helps stop problems before they escalate.
Housing & Homeownership
Owning a home should be achievable for families who live and work in our communities. I support policies that protect local homeownership, prevent large corporations from dominating the housing market, and preserve the stability and character of our neighborhoods.
Stopping Corporate Home Buyouts
Large investment firms are buying up single-family homes and pricing out local families. I support measures that limit this practice and protect access to homeownership.
Protecting Local Housing Markets
Our communities should not be controlled by out-of-state corporations. Housing policy should prioritize residents, not investors.
Preserving Community Stability
Homeownership builds strong communities. We must ensure future generations have the same opportunity to own a home.
Workers & Fair Employment
Every worker deserves to be treated fairly and with transparency. I will advocate for clear communication around wages, protections against unfair labor practices, and policies that ensure honest work is met with honest pay.
Wage Transparency
Georgia does not currently require employers to notify employees of wage changes as long as they remain above minimum wage. That needs to change. Workers deserve to know when and how their pay is affected.
Preventing Wage Theft
Georgia can benefit from stronger protections similar to laws in other states that ensure employees are paid fairly and on time. Honest work should always result in honest pay.
Fair Employer Practices
Good businesses should not be undercut by bad actors. Clear, fair rules protect both employees and responsible employers.
Responsible Growth & Energy
Growth is important, but it must be managed responsibly. I support balanced development that protects our infrastructure, keeps utility costs reasonable, and ensures that economic progress does not come at the expense of our environment or quality of life.
Limiting Unchecked Data Center Expansion
Large data centers are driving up energy demand, increasing utility costs, and placing strain on local infrastructure. Growth must be managed responsibly.
Protecting Utility Costs for Families
Residents should not bear the burden of rising energy costs caused by large-scale developments. We need balanced policies that protect everyday consumers.
Environmental Responsibility
Economic growth should not come at the expense of our local environment. We must protect our land, water, and long-term sustainability.
Government Accountability
Government should be responsive, transparent, and accountable to the people it serves. I am committed to ensuring that constituents are heard, decisions are made openly, and leadership remains focused on the needs of the community rather than political interests.
Responsive Representation
Constituents deserve answers. Elected officials should be accessible and engaged with the people they serve.
Transparency in Decision Making
Government actions should be clear, understandable, and open to the public.
Putting People Over Politics
Decisions should be made based on what is right for the community, not party pressure or political gain.
Other Issues
While these are some of the key issues I am focused on, there are many other areas that impact the daily lives of our community. I am committed to listening, learning, and addressing the full range of concerns facing District 73.
Public Safety
Safe communities are the foundation of a strong district. I support law enforcement, community partnerships, and policies that keep our neighborhoods secure while building trust between citizens and those who serve them.
Education & Workforce Development
Education should prepare students for real opportunities. I support strong local schools, parental involvement, and workforce development programs that connect education to careers.
Small Business & Economic Growth
Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy. I support policies that reduce unnecessary burdens, encourage entrepreneurship, and help local businesses grow and succeed.
Infrastructure & Transportation
As our area continues to grow, infrastructure must keep pace. I support practical solutions that address traffic, improve roadways, and ensure our communities remain accessible and connected.
Second Amendment Rights
I support the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens while also recognizing the importance of responsible ownership and community safety.
Agriculture & Local Industry
Georgia’s agricultural roots are important to our economy and identity. I support policies that protect local farmers, promote sustainability, and ensure agriculture continues to thrive.
Separation of Church and State
As a pastor, I believe faith must be genuine and freely chosen. The separation of church and state protects that by ensuring government does not interfere with or impose religious belief. This principle safeguards the freedom of every individual.
