Meet Landen

Not a career politician, but a servant leader ready to step forward.

Landen Baynard is a husband, father, pastor, and community leader dedicated to serving others. Through his work in ministry, the auction industry, and years of leadership in the Civil Air Patrol, he has built a life centered on responsibility and service. He is running as an independent candidate for Georgia State House District 73 to bring practical solutions and accountability back to government. Landen believes leadership should be rooted in integrity, not politics. He lives in the community he serves with his wife, Melissa, and their son.

Why I'm Running

I am running for Georgia State House District 73 because I believe our community deserves leadership that listens, responds, and takes action.

There is a quote that has stuck with me:

“The standard you walk past is the standard you accept.” – Lt. Gen. David Morrison

Like many of you, I have seen issues in our state that directly impact families, workers, and our future. I have raised concerns, asked questions, and sought answers from those in office. When those concerns went unanswered, it became clear to me that if we are willing to walk past problems, we are accepting them.

As a husband and father, these issues are not abstract. They are personal. Whether it is protecting children, ensuring fairness in the workplace, or preserving the integrity of our communities, I believe we have a responsibility to step forward when something is not right.

I am not running as a career politician. I am running as someone who has spent his life serving others, leading in real-world environments, and staying connected to the people in my community. I believe government should work for the people, not around them.

District 73 deserves a representative who will show up, listen, and lead with conviction. That is why I am running.

A Strong History

Landen Baynard’s life has been shaped by service, leadership, and a commitment to growth. From a young age, he stepped into roles that required discipline, responsibility, and the ability to lead others well.

Through nearly ten years in the Civil Air Patrol, Landen has grown as a leader at every level and now serves as a Squadron Commander. He has previously served in various cadet leadership positions. Along the way, he completed national and regional leadership training and earned recognition through awards such as the Billy Mitchell, Amelia Earhart, and Ira C. Eaker Awards. These experiences helped shape how he leads, mentors others, and makes decisions that affect real people.

Landen also served as Deputy Director for Georgia with The America Project, where he worked on election integrity efforts across the state. In that role, he helped coordinate large-scale initiatives and advocated for transparency and accountability in Georgia’s election process. In this role, Landen led an effort to interview Election Superintendents and Boards across all of Georgia's 159 counties, shedding light on flaws and downfalls with SB 202.

At the same time, Landen stayed focused on his education. He earned degrees in Air Traffic Management and Technical Management and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity in Christian Leadership. His academic path reflects discipline and a desire to keep growing.

Professionally, Landen has worked in business, marketing, procurement, and operations. He understands the challenges workers face and the pressures on employers, and he believes in solutions that are both fair and practical.

Today, Landen serves as a bivocational pastor at Brooks Baptist Church while also working in the auction industry. In both roles, he works closely with individuals and families and remains actively involved in the community. He continues to volunteer regularly through both the Civil Air Patrol and the church, staying connected to the people and needs of the community he serves.

His story is not about politics. It is about preparation, service, and a steady commitment to doing what is right. That is the kind of leadership he is ready to bring to District 73.
